How we do this...

Along side our Permanent Recruitment Solutions for salaried positions, we can offer low-cost recruitment solutions for non-salaried staff (e.g. Care Assistants, Kitchen Assistants, Housekeeping) based on hours as opposed to percentage of annual pay. Through experience gathered in the Care Sector, we understand a lot of the vacancies are hours based, and may need to be flexible; full or part time, to meet requirements and budgets. Therefore instead of a typical recruitment introduction charge for an annual salary, we wanted to reflect the sectors requirements and introduced a variable hours solution.

This works for all providers whether an Independent Care Home through to Large Care providers of up to 260 Care Homes, the rate decreases the more hours used across the year, which can be spread across multiple homes. For a FREE detailed analysis for your current requirements, or if you would like a projected analysis please contact us today.

With the latest Skills for Care Report Release; The state of the adult social care sector and workforce in England (October 2023). Recruitment and Retention are a continuing concern across the sector. We aim to work with providers to address head on the key factors effecting retainment in the sector:

They identify 5 Key factors to retaining Adult Social Care staff, including:

  • Being able to access training

  • Having a relevant qualification

We recognise that some care providers may not have access to large internal Learning and Development teams, so in line with CQC Regulation 18: Staffing and Skills for Care recommendations we can support with training, offering guidance to free certification in Health and Social care courses such as- Dementia care, End of life care, Dignity and Safeguarding, and many more.

This can lead to looking at Apprenticeships/NVQ's if necessary, in order to allow you to build a solid workforce for what the future holds; not just by filling current recruitment vacancies but succession planning for the future; building on retention by ensuring staff feel valued and have opportunity to succeed and progress within your organisation.

With 440,000 care roles likely to be required by 2035 and 440,000 posts currently filled by people who are due to retire by 2035, acting now and securing your solid foundation of care workers, will ensure that our older generation are cared for by dedicated professionals and put you in a strong position to not only succeed, but to grow.

The remaining 3 Key Factors:

  • Being paid more than the minimum wage

  • Not being on a zero-hours contract

  • Being able to work full time

By upskilling the workforce due to training opportunities offered and having more qualified people with an instilled loyalty to their organisation, this will also enhance their pay in most situations. With qualified staff, they should be able to work in contracted positions whether full or part time and continue the succession planning of an organisation for the future.

The solutions we have developed to address these concerns within the sector are:

Permanent Recruitment Solutions – Not just introducing a candidate, but ensuring we liaise with your Onboarding/HR team to ensure you have the necessary compliance documentation (including ID for Right to Work, DBS and Referee details).

Non-Salaried Recruitment – Providing a truly value based recruitment solution, recognising & understanding the frustration of staff on National Minimum / Real Living Wage, and the bad press around this – we address this head on with candidates. Making sure they understand the benefits and development your organisation offers, e.g. Blue Light discounts / Care Worker Charity discounts and how to access these, but also what they are entitled to outside of this – whether Tax Free Childcare or understanding Uniform Tax rules from previous role and supporting them in applying for this through HMRC.

Specialist Consultancy- We can look at the Recruitment processes of your organisations and help to support or improve these. We utilise Continual Improvement, Six-Sigma and Lean Management tools, to help your company succeed.
